Inground pools around Geneva Lake
Most of the pools on this lake are not new. They were put in decades ago, they have been patched through several owners, and at some point each one reaches a question: refresh it, or rebuild it. That question is most of our work, and it is worth answering carefully - the difference between the two paths is measured in seasons of use and in what the property is worth when you eventually hand it on. New construction we do as well, on lots that suit it. Either way it starts the same way, with someone standing in your yard rather than quoting off a web form.
Where to start
How it works
Three steps, then a decision that is yours.
1. Tell us about the property
Four questions about the pool, the lot and your timing. That is the entire ask to get moving.
2. Walk the site with a builder
A local licensed and insured builder visits, reads the ground and the access, and talks through what the property will actually support.
3. Get a written plan
A plan and a quote for your lot specifically - what it involves, in what order, and across which seasons.
Work here is scheduled around the season, not around the enquiry. Projects that break ground in spring were generally agreed the autumn before.
Fiberglass or vinyl-liner
The lot usually decides this, not the brochure.
Plenty of local builders lead with fiberglass. It is a good product in the right hole. What it needs is delivery access and crane reach, and a fair number of properties on this shoreline have neither. Here is the honest comparison rather than a preference.
Fiberglass shell
- Arrives as a finished mould - fast to set once it is on site
- Smooth surface, low ongoing maintenance
- Needs a wide delivery path and crane position
- Shape and depth limited to what the manufacturer makes
Vinyl-liner build
- Shaped to the lot, including awkward and sloped ground
- Goes in where a crane and a lorry cannot reach
- Liner is a replaceable wear item rather than a resurfacing job
- Wall system tolerates freeze-thaw movement
Straight answer
Some lots should not have a pool.
Slope, water table, access and setbacks rule out a fair number of shoreline properties, and a few more should have a smaller pool than the owner had in mind. You will hear that at the consultation, not after a deposit.

Questions, answered
Lake Geneva pool questions.
Who are the best pool builders in Lake Geneva?
The right crew for a Geneva Lake property is one that has worked shoreline lots before - sloped ground, tight side-yard access, shoreland setbacks, and owners who are often not on site during the build. We connect you with a local, licensed and insured builder, and every project opens with a free design consultation and a written plan for your particular lot.
Is it worth remodeling an older pool instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. If the wall system and plumbing are sound, a remodel can update the liner, the coping, the decking and the equipment for a fraction of the disruption of a full rebuild. What decides it is structure, not appearance. Our remodeling page walks through the specific signals that push a project from renovation into replacement.
Do you build fiberglass pools?
We build both fiberglass and vinyl-liner inground pools, and which one suits you depends on your lot far more than on any general argument. Fiberglass needs crane reach and a clear delivery path, which several shoreline lots here simply do not have. Vinyl-liner takes a custom shape and fits awkward ground. We will tell you which your property actually supports.
How does a pool project work if I am not at the property?
Most of our owners are here on weekends and in season, and the build calendar is arranged around that. Decisions get grouped so they can be made in a single visit or remotely, and progress is documented between them. It is a normal way to run a project on this lake, not an exception.
What areas do you cover?
Lake Geneva and the Walworth County communities around Geneva Lake and Delavan Lake, including Williams Bay, Fontana, Delavan, Elkhorn, Walworth and Genoa City. If you are not sure whether your property is in range, send the quiz and we will confirm either way.
Does a pool here need a fence?
Almost certainly, but the rule belongs to your municipality rather than to the state. Wisconsin sets no statewide barrier requirement for a private residential pool - the state pool code reaches public pools, not a pool behind a house - so height, gaps, gates and latches are written by your village or town, and they differ around this lake. We design the barrier with the pool and to the rule that applies at your address.
